WKSU,
NPR and Classical Music for Northeast Ohio, began broadcasting in October,
1950. Since then WKSU, a non-profit public radio station, joined National
Public Radio (NPR) as a member station and experienced growth that included
building their own production facility and adding repeater transmitters
in Thompson, Wooster, and New Philadelphia.
